Ian Ryder

Ian Ryder is VP Strategy Management for SITA’s Air Travel Solutions business division, where he has a special focus on strategy for airline operations solutions. 

Ian joined SITA in 1985 and has more than 30 years of experience in strategy, business planning and solution and service implementation for airline commercial operations, direct sales and service applications. Since 2015 Ian has worked across SITA’s wider airline and airport businesses to identify and incubate new service offerings. Ian holds a BA Hons degree from Durham University in the UK. He is based in London.

نحن جميعًا نعلم أن النظام البيئي المعقد لقطاع النقل الجوي يعتمد في الأساس على مبدأ التعاون. لكن السؤال الآن "كيف يمكن للتقنيات الناشئة أن تزيد من هذا التعاون بطرق فعالة بشكل متزايد؟

صرّح إيان رايدر نائب رئيس شركة New Business Concepts في حدث هاكاثون لتطوير القدرة الجديدة على التوزيع (NDC) والذي استضافه اتحاد النقل الجوي الدولي في دبي بقوله "إن القطاع مشغول حاليًا بابتكار واجهات برمجة التطبيقات. لكن دائمًا ما نجهل استخدامات هذه الواجهات في حياة الأفراد حتى تقوم بجمع مجموعة من الأشخاص المتوافقين معًا لابتكار وإطلاق أفكار جديدة".

Airline passenger services systems (PSS) - commodity or differentiator?

This question was hotly debated by a group of us over coffee in Atlanta last week. Clearly, technology, lifestyles and customer expectations are forcing rapid change on airlines - but is this innovation bypassing core functions such as reservations and DCS? Are they becoming a commodity?
